The Challenge
Solving the problem for pet care
Pet owners often struggle to quickly and easily access professional advice from veterinarians, especially when they are on a budget or short on time. They may be unsure if their pet needs to be treated at a hospital, and may not know where nearby hospitals are located. Additionally, they may not have the time to call and wait in line for professional help.
Compared to calling and providing information over the phone, which can be time-consuming and require waiting for the next available appointment, a virtual platform is faster and more cost-effective. This presents a huge potential opportunity for Petsvet.
The Solution
Make pet ownership a stress-free and fulfilling experience
PetsAsk aims to simplify the vet visiting process for pet owners who need more budget or time, guide users who seek professional advice from veterinarians online quickly and easily, and allow users to learn about taking care of their pets. PetsAsk also seeks to guide beginner pet owners to learn about the journey of becoming good pet parents, making it easier for them to provide the best care for their pets.
Exploring the Depths
I have conducted one-on-one interviews and secondary research to better understand pet owners' thoughts on visiting a veterinarian.
70% of U.S. households own a pet, with 69 million owning a dog and 45.3 million owning a cat.
78.7% of people have taking their pets to the vet in the last 12 months.
69% of dogs have appointments for routine check-out.
57.2% of people think vet bills are high-cost.
54.2% of people spend more on their pet's vet bills in the last year than they did the year before.
Deeper Insights
Why are pet owners struggling to visit vets?
Pet owners consider visiting the new veterinary clinic as their pets may experience additional stress.
Pet owners have busy schedules and may be unable to have lengthy phone conversations.
Pet owners forget their appointments because they did not receive a reminder.
Pet owners are unsure whether specific symptoms warrant a visit to the vet.
Pet owners cannot walk in for treatments without prior arrangements in emergency situations.

Petsvet understands that people are busy and sometimes need to set a notification just in case they forget their appointment. Petsvet provides the opportunity for customers to review doctors' profiles online. If the customer decides that this doctor is not for them, then they can easily book a virtual consult to see if another doctor might be a better fit for them and their pet. By continuing to visit the same doctor, pets might reduce their anxiety because they will become comfortable with the environment and the staff.

Key Takeways
The success of the Petsvet project is possible through a bigger focus on accessibility, along with understanding and addressing user pain points. With better functionality, users can easily adapt to the product and interact with it more simply. There are so many technical aspects that need to be considered while designing the desktop version such as size and aesthetic design.
Depending on the user feedback, we will have to make sure all of those aspects are properly handled to reshape the user experience completely. Even though this project will take a lot of effort and energy from our end, it's worth it, considering how beneficial and rewarding it'll be in terms of development and improvement. In conclusion, this project presents great potential for future developments and enhancements, which ultimately could result in a successful implementation.
