Playing with Metals

I have previously crafted jewelry using wire inspired by cultural and natural sources, including the Padaung tribe, known for their brass-coiled neck jewelry. My design aims to convey beauty without causing harm, using pearls and gold-colored wire to represent the principle of "less is more."

The Beauty of Pearls - Neckpiece, 2018 copper wires, pearls, 6 x 6 in.
The Beauty of Pearls - Bangle 2018 copper wires, pearls, 4 x 2 in.
The Fallen Leaves, 2018 silver, 1.9 x 3 in.
The Blossom, 2018 copper wires, freshwater pearl, 2 x 2 in.

As I work with wires, I strive for a clean and minimal look. I use the interplay of light and shadow to create new pieces, starting with a geometry wire art piece and using its shadow to inform the design of the next. This process is repeated to create a series of works.

Exploring Design Possibilities

To further refine my techniques, I began incorporating computer-aided design (CAD) into my design process. This has allowed me to build upon my earlier work, which consisted of basic geometric shapes, and create more intricate designs.

By experimenting with different combinations of these shapes, I have generated an array of captivating renderings.
